Sophomore Studio Album On Vinyl LP!
Written and recorded in upstate New York at Allaire Studios, Sling was co-produced by Clairo and Golden Globe/GRAMMY® Award-winning producer Jack Antonoff. The album's lead single, "Blouse", features backing vocals from Lorde.
"'Blouse,' the first offering from Claire Cottrill's upcoming record, Sling, immediately sets itself apart from the indie alt-pop that defined her 2019 debut, Immunity. The song begins as if rubbing the sleep from its eyes after a long nap: a hushed acoustic guitar melody is soon joined by gentle orchestral flourishes courtesy of co-producer Jack Antonoff and low-key backing vocals from Lorde... 'Blouse' is a quiet yet bold leap forward for Clairo, one that puts a spotlight on her skills as a songwriter with remarkable ease." - Quinn Moreland, Pitchfork
Associated with soft, intimate vocals, day-dreamy atmosphere, and rumination, Clairo is lo-fi singer/songwriter Claire Cottrill. Alternating keyboards and guitars as accompaniment, and often coloring her recordings with samples and sound effects, Clairo began sharing dozens of her styled, but low-key, melody-driven tunes to music-sharing sites as a young teen in 2013. At only 19 years old, Clairo became a viral YouTube sensation with her songs "Pretty Girl" and "Flaming Hot Cheetos".
On her second album, reluctant Gen Z ambassador Clairo turns back the clock, embracing classic touchstones of 1970s folk... Sling is her '70s singer-songwriter album, the work of an old soul raised on Carole King, Joni Mitchell, and the Carpenters.
