Discovered in 2010 by world class jazz pianist and legend, Paul Smith, Lyn Stanley entered singing with the world’s most famous accompanist, Paul Smith and his trio, four months after meeting her. Known for her lush low notes, beautiful intonation, rich interpretations and phrasing, Lyn has been described by Scott Yanow as a “superior singer ” and Don Heckman stated she “..is a potentially significant new [jazz] talent. ”

"I don’t care what’s in your record collection, this one will head near or to the top as among the best sounding in your collection. Lost In Romance is one album where the outstanding sound is matched by the music making." - Michael Fremer, www.analogplanet.com, rated 9/10 Music, 11/10 Sound!!!

"Given the pristine recording, the ideal mix by the great Al Schmitt at Capitol Studios, the mastering by Bernie Grundman (with Lyn Stanley), the gatefold packaging and numbered, limited edition, double 45rpm 180g Pallas pressing, it’s clear Stanley is bidding for a home in the female vocalist-friendly “audiophile” market. Mission accomplished." - Michael Fremer, www.analogplanet.com, rated 9/10 Music, 11/10 Sound!!!

"As for the album’s sonics, let’s start with how Stanley’s voice is recorded... and that is directly and at close range into the microphone and from there to the mix without “a net” of a lot of reverb or any other kind of signal processing that can cover for less than perfect intonation and phrasing. That is why I called this album “daring”. Stanley gets in front of the microphone and you hear it all up close and very personal. From that intimate setting, like a figure skater going for the Gold, she takes chance upon chance, letting it all hang out and every time landing solidly on her feet. You will not hear a more naturally recorded female voice than you’ll hear on the record. At least I haven’t..." - Michael Fremer, www.analogplanet.com, rated 9/10 Music, 11/10 Sound!!!

Lost In Romance is a unique album that combines 13 of Los Angeles’ best jazz musicians performing in four different trios along with soloists. The album is organized as a tale of love’s in’s and out’s, trials and tribulations, joys and disappointments—in a sequence that is best appreciated when heard in song order. The songs include traditional Great American Songbook tunes, but also step into blues and even Broadway-with “Losing My Mind” performed from a dancer’s perspective in a jazz arrangement. The album’s musicians and stellar arrangements were created by Tamir Hendelman, Steve Rawlins and Llew Matthews—all three have worked with some of the greatest artists in America including Barbra Streisand, Bette Midler and Nancy Wilson.

"Only a few tracks are required for the listener to be Lost in Romance with Lyn Stanley. I was there by “The Nearness of You.” By then, she has warmed the room with a series of classics from Irving Berlin, Johnny Mercer, Hoagy Carmichael." -Brian Arsenault, The International Review of Music Click here to read the entire review!

"A hit at CES, Lyn Stanley's debut contains standards delivered with such composure and skill that it's hard to believe this chanteuse has only been singing professionally for four years. Discovered and mentored--after huge success as a ballroom dancer--by Paul Smith, long associated with Ella Fitzgerald, Ms. Stanley self-financed this gem, inadvertently creating an audiophile's delight...The 15 cuts are sung with elegance rather than flamboyance, a la Helen Forrest and Doris Day. Simply Gorgeous." -UK Hi-Fi News, awarded Album Choice of the Month

"I have really enjoyed listening to Lyn Stanley on this beautiful done double LP. Like the album cover, her voice and even the simplicity of the recording is a throwback to sounds of a simpler time...I don’t care who you compare this LP to, it will hold its own. Lost In Romance, an album where the music of the great “American Songbook” has been equally well performed and recorded. If you have any interest in this type of beautiful music this is a must have LP." -Jack Roberts, dagogo.com
