The Sumiko Songbird cartridge is great at providing some excitement to otherwise anemic classical system setups!

The Songbird comes in at a much needed price point perfect for launching the part-time audiophile into some serious listening. As its name suggests, this open-architecture moving coil cartridge excels at providing colorful and rich vocals, and highlights the powerful low and mid-end of funk and rock. The long 7-micron stylus face will handle different cutting angles well, and this cartridge is also great at providing some excitement to otherwise anemic classical system setups.

"The Songbird produced blasts of detail resolution, transient precision, dynamic slam and spatial delineation that modestly priced MMs can’t deliver... If you want to try a high output moving coil cartridge that’s well-built, reasonably priced does everything well, and resolves sufficient detail to make you sit up and take notice without making you feel as if you’re dissecting instead of listening to music, Sumiko’s new Songbird is a well-voiced, high performance choice I don’t think you’ll regret making." -Michael Fremer, analogplanet.com
