How we record our artists:
1. Played live, start to finish, direct to master, without over-dubbing or splicing together of notes.
2. Recorded in acoustical spaces that allow the music to live. The rooms that we use are typically old church sanctuaries, art museums, or theatrical venues, chosen for their clean, balanced, and natural sound
3. The signal path must be kept as short as possible and the typical electronic processing such as compressing, limiting and equalization are not used. We use mostly custom tube recording equipment made by Tube Research Labs, Inc. In turn, the recording is extraordinarily dynamic and lifelike.
4.Each disc is then made individually, burnt in "realtime" not stamped on a gold CD-R for dramatically increased fidelity and sound.
Diversity only does live recordings of real performances using no compression, limiters, equalizers, or added reverb.
At over an hours worth of music, this standard format CD includes songs from Ecstasy In Numbers, The Kevin Jones Band, and Inner Voices. This is your chance to hear the wide range of artists signed to Diversity, and just a small sample of the many planned projects for 2003.
Mike Mattingly, Garey Williams and Rick White are Ecstasy in Numbers.
Ecstasy In Numbers performs original, instrumental Progressive Jazz music with mood inducing harmonies, symphonically-recurring themes and flowing freestyle arrangements. Their catchy interlocking grooves and imaginative improvisations create dramatically experiential environments. Progression Magazine says: “Ecstasy In Numbers charts out it’s own course. As with any Music of this kind, its fate rests on the player's instrumental prowess. These three are very good musicians...All the music is smoothly played, but light years beyond "smooth jazz.” ProgressiveWorld.net says: “Each song is a journey that remains fresh and vital, these three guys aren't just playing jazzy figures, they're feeling them.... Throaty bass pulses with bravado; lacy guitar figures are anything but delicate, but quite lyrical and expressive...so well done and quite engaging and entertaining. Highly recommended that you seek this out.” www.ecstasyinnumbers.com
Greg Hendrickson and Kevin Jones are the Kevin Jones Band.
The Kevin Jones Band is primarily Kevin on Guitars and vocals, Greg Hendrickson on a variety of basses, and occasional guest artists. Their music is rhythmic and colorful; Kevin's original songs are touching and accessible. Their shows have fans both dancing and listening with equally enthusiasm, and their willingness to experiment with a variety of tunings, superb dynamics, and unique versions of cover songs often leave people wondering where the rest of the band is hiding. Roberta Cruger, Seattle Weekly says: “With a voice and lyrics to match the sweet strains of his guitar, Kevin could be Seattle's version of Jackson Browne.” Performing Songwriter Magazine says: “Jones is the kind who's always looking for fresh inspiration, new challenges, and different directions and always ready to lay down that next great track or write that next great song.” www.kevinjones.net
Melissa Morina, Carly Tuttle & Danielle Jacobson are Inner Voices
The a capella vocal group that would become known as The Inner Voices was formed in 2000 to showcase the combined talents of mezzosoprano Melissa Morina, lead singer Carly Tuttle and alto Danielle Jacobson. Each finds their inspiration in each other, creating a synergy among them that is evident in their arrangements. They have won numerous awards and captivated audiences wherever they have performed. “... Their euphonic blend and unique harmonies have delighted audiences at contests, festivals, and special events throughout the Midwest. ” “... hauntingly smooth arrangements of traditional Renaissance, Medieval and Gospel music which, at times, makes them sound as one homogenous voice; then, at other times, as three distinctly harmonious voices--the Inner Voices.” www.woods-and-waters.com/innervoices/
