Cork mat upgrade

The cork mat for my old VPI HW-16 is an unexpected upgrade. I realized it would keep the records from slipping but it also raised the records to make the vacuum more effective! And it looks great! Maybe it’ll go for another 35 years!!

Cork Mat Was A Good Replacement For My Original 16.0

This was to complete my VPI 16.0 upgrade to a 16.5 because the original rubberized mat was very thin and bonded with adhesive to the platter. It could not be reused because the platter screws were underneath it and I had to peel it off. This new one was easy to align and bond. It provides a better cushioned and non-slip platform for the records. I withheld one star because it sometimes sheds a few cork particles once in a great while.
