A record that needs no introduction - it is that famous and unforgettable. Recorded in 1971 and mastered originally by Bernie Grundman while at Contemporary Records, this album is one that you drop the needle and listen through the entire side - the songs are that strong. In fact, James Taylor later recorded "You've Got a Friend" penned and performed on Tapestry by Carole King. This is a stripped down recording by comparison with most other 70's pop albums but then this record started out as a folk album that quickly crossed over and became a success for Lou Adler's Ode Record label. The original pressings of this album were cut by Bernie Grundman from the same original 2 track master used when Bernie remastered the album this time - all other LP issues (including the CBS 1/2 speed master) were cut from eq copy tapes! You'll hear a monumental effort that stands the test of time, remastered by the man who helped make it a hit to begin with.
