Nocturnal Emissions Co-Founder's Lone Solo Album Reissued on Vinyl LP!
A Richly Cinematic Sound-World of Haunting & Wistful Post-Industrial Synthesizer Music!

Mannequin Records is proud to present the official reissue of Caroline K's outstanding 1987 album, Now Wait for Last Year.

This haunting, wistful work of post-industrial synthesizer music is the late Nocturnal Emissions co-founder's only solo record. The music on Now Wait for Last Year seems to exist firmly outside of it. Tags like industrial, minimal synth or proto-techno can't really do justice to the richly cinematic sound-world that Caroline K describes: from the sustained ambient tension of sidelong opener "The Happening World" to the future-primitive rhythms and stately piano flourishes "Animal Lattice", and the melancholic, deep-frozen synth sequences of "Cheart."

Now Wait For Last Year is really a piece of work that should have been more influential than it became. Its raw and primitive elements are like those which eventually were employed by many artists from ambient to new wave to ebm today. It is haunting in many parts and sad in some, especially when you think about what more Caroline K might have done on her own. But without question, this album should be listened to by purists interested in ambient, dark ambient, new age and really electronic music fans in general. Now Wait For Last Year is the likes of where it all began.
