Mastered from Original Analog Tapes by Bernie Grundman! Pressed at Pallas!
Mingus Dynasty was recorded in 1959, alongside its companion album, Mingus Ah Um. With two different ensembles at his disposal, Mingus musically challenged the musicians as theyd never been challenged before. The results speak for themselves. This vinyl reissue was mastered from original analog tapes by Bernie Grundman, pressed on 180gram vinyl at Pallas in Germany, and is limited to 2,000 units worldwide. The jacket includes liner notes from Mingus himself.
"...Mingus Dynasty is still an excellent album--in fact, it's a testament to just how high a level Mingus was working on that an album of this caliber could have gotten lost in the shuffle." -Steve Huey, allmusic.com
