As if this wasnt enough, management supremo Robert Stigwood then saw them play at the National Jazz & Blues Festival and immediately signed them to his Reaction label imprint. The result? "Disraeli Gears" the perfect record for the times which luckily contained a brace of instant timeless classics in the form of "Strange Brew", "SWLABR" and the almighty riff-laden "Sunshine Of Your Love". Producer Felix Pappalardi harnesses the blues-jazz prowess of Eric Clapton, Jack Bruce and Ginger Baker to colorful, concise songs: "Strange Brew" (slinky funk), "Dance the Night Away" (trippy jangle), "Tales of Brave Ulysses" (a wah-wah freakout written by Clapton with Martin Sharp, who created the kaleidoscopic cover art).
