40th Anniversary Limited Edition 7" Picture Disc Single!
2014 saw the release of the special limited David Bowie 7" Picture Disc, the 40th anniversary edition of Knock On Wood (Live).
Originally released in the autumn of 1974 and taken from David Live, these two 2005 mixes by Tony Visconti make their vinyl debut on this 40th Anniversary 7" Vinyl Picture Disc. The original David Live single mix of "Knock On Wood" was a UK top 10, however the US went with "Rock 'n' Roll With Me", also from David Live, in response to Donovan's recent cover version there.
The image used on the A-side of the picture disc is from the picture of the original French single whilst the flip-side features a rarely seen shot of Bowie from 1974.
Bowie has been a major figure in the world of popular music for over four decades, and is renowned as an innovator, particularly for his work in the 1970s. He is known for his distinctive voice as well as the intellectual depth and eclecticism of his work. A cutting edge musician and artist, icon, entrepreneur, fashion guru, and all round inspiration to several generations, David Bowie has remained a unique phenomenon in contemporary culture right up until his death in January 2016.
