Released by the David Geffen Co. in 1989, The End Of The Innocence stayed on the pop chart for almost three years and resulted in five hit singles. This was Don Henley's third and most successful solo recording at that point in his career. Little wonder as Henley once again assembled a stellar cast of supporting musicians and singers for songs created by himself and talents like Danny Kortchmar, J.D. Souther, Stan Lynch and Mike Campbell. Some of the artists providing background vocals and harmonies are Sheryl Crow, Ivan Neville, Axl Rose, Patty Smyth, Melissa Etheridge, Edie Brickell and Julia and Maxine Waters.Well-written, insightful lyrics (reproduced in the booklet) and outstanding production values complement an extremely talented selection of musicians and singers. Don Henley is a master at creating catchy, clever songs and heartfelt ballads. The End Of The Innocence demonstrates this fact to the listener's delight. Mobile Fidelity is pleased to be releasing our second Henley recording and another sonic spectacular. Building The Perfect Beast is also available on Ultradisc II, UDCD 705.
