Like its companion Side by Side, Back to Back features some high quality "cookin'" by some high quality jazz greats. Ellington and Hodges are joined by trumpeter Harry Edison, Jo Jones on drums and Sam Jones on bass during these jam sessions recorded in 1958 and 1959.
