Expansive and Immersive

The GS1000 represents a defining step in the evolution of the Classic Series.

Designed around a large-format acoustic platform, the GS1000 pairs Grado's 50mm X2 dynamic driver with a full mahogany housing and the oversized G cushion system. Together these elements create a presentation that feels expansive, dimensional, and immersive while preserving the immediacy and clarity that define the Grado sound.

Where many headphones focus on intimacy and forward presentation, the GS1000 introduces a broader sense of space — allowing recordings to unfold with greater width, depth, and air.

52mm X2 Dynamic Driver

At the center of the GS1000 is Grado's 50mm X2 dynamic driver built around a Mylar diaphragm, copper voice coil, and rare earth magnetic system engineered for efficiency and dynamic control.

Within the Classic Series the X2 platform also incorporates refined tuning developed through years of listening and feedback, improving balance and clarity while preserving the lively character that has long defined Grado headphones.

The larger diaphragm allows the GS1000 to move more air with ease, delivering deeper bass extension, improved dynamic headroom, and a presentation that feels open and effortless.

Signature Gold Headband Assembly

The GS1000 incorporates Grado's Signature Gold headband assembly representing the most refined mechanical platform used across the Classic Series.

The system features engraved aluminum alloy gimbals, stainless steel height rods, and reinforced aluminum junction blocks designed to improve structural stability and long-term durability while maintaining controlled rotation for proper alignment.

A genuine leather headstrap with contrasting white stitching provides comfort during extended listening sessions while the internal steel spring band allows listeners to easily adjust clamping pressure for a personalized fit.

Signature Silver Cable

The GS1000 is supplied with Grado's Signature Silver cable offering improved flexibility and reduced weight while maintaining signal integrity.

G Cushions

The GS1000 ships standard with Grado G cushions, the largest cushions in the Grado lineup.

Their geometry positions the driver farther from the ear, expanding perceived width and dimensionality while maintaining center focus. The result is a presentation that feels immersive and spacious without losing precision.

Like all Grado cushions they also serve as a tuning element allowing listeners to personalize their headphones by experimenting with different cushion styles to subtly adjust tonal balance and presentation.

Mahogany Housing

The GS1000 features a full mahogany housing, a material long associated with the Grado sound.

Mahogany contributes warmth, tonal richness, and natural resonance, helping shape a presentation that feels organic and cohesive while maintaining the openness and scale that define the GS1000.
