39/Smooth is the LP version of the 1991 Green Day release "1039/Smoothed Out Slappy Hours". Before Nirvana and Nevermind, there was Green Day with this three-chord explosion of unfettered, even goofy, energy and passion. Previously out of print, this elusive album is now reissued for the first time on a major label.

Recorded in 22 hours from 4:30pm, December 29, 1989 to midnight, January 2, 1990 at Art of Ears in San Francisco.
