180g Vinyl Reissue! Mastered from the Original Masters and Cut at Abbey Road Studios! Pressed at Optimal!
Walls and Bridges is the fifth studio album by John Lennon, released on September 26, 1974 in the United States. Written, recorded, and released during his 18-month separation from Yoko Ono (June 1973 January 1975), the album captures Lennon in the midst of his "Lost Weekend." Walls and Bridges was an American Billboard number one album and featured two hit singles "Whatever Gets You thru the Night" and "#9 Dream," the first of which was Lennon's first number one hit in the United States as a solo artist, and his only chart-topping single in either the US or Britain during his lifetime. The album was certified gold in the US.
The album was remastered from John Lennons original mixes in 2010 by a team of engineers led by Allan Rouse at Abbey Road Studios in London and by George Marino at Avatar Studios in New York. The new vinyl master was cut by Sean Magee at Abbey Road Studios and the LP has been manufactured for the world by Optimal Media in Germany.
This 180g vinyl reissue of the 1974 classic album is an authentic reproduction of its U.K. original, in its sound and visual presentation.
John Lennon is one of the worlds most celebrated songwriters and performers of all time. Lennon has been posthumously honored with a Lifetime Achievement GRAMMY® Award and two special BRIT Awards for Outstanding Contribution to Music, and he has been inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and the Songwriters Hall of Fame.
