There are live albums, and then there are definitive live albums from the classic rock era which were events on their release. Live Johnny Winter And is one of those rare releases.

Recorded during his short-lived and much revered Johnny Winter And era, this early supergroup with Rick Derringer (The McCoys, Edgar Winter Group, Steely Dan), Randy Jo Hobbs (The McCoys /Johnny Winter) and Bobby Caldwell (Captain Beyond) were known for their incredible live rock performances. Two of these phenomenal shows are captured on this historical rock album.

Bill Graham's Fillmore East in NYC and Pirate's World in Florida were the settings for this live extravaganza, featuring stunning renditions of blues classics "Good Morning Little School Girl" and of course B.B. King's "It's My Own Fault." As a nod to his favorite rock and rollers, Johnny even found the energy for more foot stompin' interpretations of tracks which became his own definitive versions like The Rolling Stones' "Jumpin' Jack Flash" and the legendary "Johnny B. Goode" by Chuck Berry. This album was so jam packed with excitement that rock radio at the time would play the entire album sides because of the ground breaking performances contained within the grooves.

Friday Music is honored to announce another installment of their Johnny Winter 180 Gram Audiophile Vinyl Series with his gold album Live Johnny Winter And. This first time audiophile vinyl release is mastered from the original Columbia Records tapes by Joe Reagoso (Johnny Winter/Deep Purple/Jeff Beck) at Friday Music Studios with Kevin Gray and pressed at RTI.

For this special release, the limited edition album comes in the original gatefold album cover featuring the stunning live photography of Norman Seeff. To keep your album in impeccable condition, also included is a poly lined sleeve to protect your vinyl investment and a poly bag for the stunning album cover art.
