Megaforce Records releases possibly the greatest album of Johnny Winter music titled "Step Back." The album features an amazing list of musical guests and takes Johnny back to a more aggressive style of blues... one that helped shape the musical icon. Guests include Eric Clapton, Dr. John, ZZ Top's Billy Gibbons, Aerosmith's Joe Pery, and Stray Cats' Brian Setzer.
Johnny Winter's final album, this 2014 released album is issued posthumously. Winter had finished recording the album and played a European concert just prior to his death on July 16, 2014. Produced by Paul Nelson, Step Back showcases classic songs that were inspiring to Johnny Winter.

(Johnny Winter) took music lessons and sang in the church choir. At 10 or 11, he was transfixed by what he heard on a black radio station that was a favorite of the family's maid. "It was real raw," he recalled, "completely different than the music my parents and grandparents listened to. I started listenin' to blues on KJET because I liked what I heard in the kitchen."
