Jose Gonzalez Heartbeats (Logic1000 Remix) 45rpm 7" Vinyl Single

Mute is excited to announce the limited edition 7" release of José González's renowned cover of The Knife's seminal single "Heartbeats." Limited to 1,000 copies worldwide, the release features a new rework by Berlin-based producer Logic1000 on Side A with the original version on Side B, serving as the final chapter in the 20th anniversary celebration of González's acclaimed debut album, Veneer.

Originally released in 2003, González's iconic rendition of "Heartbeats" has amassed over 600 million streams on Spotify and has appeared in countless film and television placements, including the unforgettable 2005 Sony Bravia ad with thousands of colorful balls racing down San Francisco's Russian Hill.

Speaking on the Logic1000 rework, González says: "Having lived with 'Heartbeats' by the Knife during 22 plus years it felt refreshing to hear a good remix. Usually I'm skeptical to up- pitched vocals but this sounded great! Like mini-me singing to a fat beat. Loving this danceable up tempo version! We didn't have that many remixes of this song, partly because there weren't stems, since I recorded the original with guitar and vocals simultaneously. After many years, I finally took the time to mimic the original with separate guitar and vocals for karaoke and remixes."

Logic1000 adds: "The fact that I get to remix some of the most iconic artists in my personal history still astounds me. This one is a remix of 'Heartbeats' by José González (!), while working on it I was immediately transported to a time in my life where I was so young, full of life and energy.
