Classical Album on Brown Vinyl LP!
Brad Bassist's First Ever Solo Album!
Featuring Special Guests Peter Chilvers & Cicely Eno!
Keith Lowe has over 40 years of performing experience on both electric and acoustic bass. He studied classically for 15 years and played in various orchestras before moving on to jazz and rock where he has backed and recorded with such artists as Fiona Apple, David Sylvian, Bill Frisell, Harold Budd, Wayne Horvitz and has been a member of the band BRAD since 2008. His diverse background and wide ranging and comprehensive approach to music has resulted in a tuneful, solid, and eclectic style that has him in demand both as a performer and studio musician.
Says Keith, "As a professional musician and sideman the last few years proved challenging in its isolation and lack of musical interaction. This led to experimentation in composing solo bass pieces that brought peace and comfort while also reflecting the loneliness, isolation, and uncertainty of the times, all with a touch of hope, beauty and growth. The album was recorded over a five day period in a cabin on the Oregon coast where the wind, rain, sun and ever present roar of the surf gave constant inspiration.
"I was fortunate to have two special guests on the album whose additions I am grateful for. Peter Chilvers, a brilliant musician and frequent collaborator with Brian Eno, added beautiful atmospheres on tracks 5 and 6, while Cicely Eno (daughter of Roger Eno) provided angelic voices to track 6. Each elevated the music beyond what I could have imagined."
The record has really great subtle slow builds and nested arrangements. It features little additions appearing right where you need them. So glad Loosegroove is putting out this music.
