Veteran trio Medeski, Martin & Wood team up with Alarm Will Sound for Omnisphere. The two groups performed together in 2015 at Denver's Newman Center. Seven of those tracks made their way to this album.
Alarm Will Sounds twenty artists perform today's music with classical skill and daring curiosity. The members of Alarm Will Sound began playing together while studying at the Eastman School of Music in Rochester, New York. With diverse experience in composition, improvisation, jazz and popular styles, early music, and world musics, they bring intelligence and a sense of adventure to all their performances.
"Expansive pieces like the 14-minute "Kid Tao Mammal (Unworldliness Weirdo)",..and Medeski's 19-minute "Eye of Ra" find the two entities merging chamber and improvisational elements in organic fashion.
