One of the most formidable bass players to come out of the Canadian jazz scene, Montrealer Michel Donato has played with Art Blakey, Carmen McRae, Clark Terry, Benny Carter, Zoot Sims, Art Farmer, Gerry Mulligan, Toots Thielmans and Oscar Peterson to name a few.
In the Â’70s, Michel joined the formidable Bill Evans trio with drummer Philly Joe Jones. He has taught at McGill University, and in recent years has continued to perform, compose feature film scores and collaborate in some double bass experiments with both Henri Texier and Charlie Haden.
Born in Romania, accordionist Marin Nasturica plays everything from classical to gypsy music to Romanian and Russian folk music and, of course, jazz.
Jon Geary has become one of North AmericaÂ’s finest seven-string guitar players and has studied with John Abercrombie and played with the likes of Bucky Pizzarelli.
With a mixture of European folk sounds and jazz, this album is full of the easiest listening, yet delightfully entertaining music!
For the first time in the history of recording, it is now possible to play back music that has not been altered by any moving part, from the original recording session to your audio system through a computer or a music server. Fidelio records all sessions on a SSD drive and later, they upload directly the unadulterated master on a MasterFlash™ card.
The MasterFlash™ is a 4 GB Flash card that connects to the computer like any regular USB key. All MasterFlash™ cards are numbered and signed and contain a Fidelio recording master in 24Bit/96kHz or 24Bit/176kHz original native WAVE file format (without up or downsampling). The advantage of this new technology over DVD data or downloads is a more open and stable imaging with truly pure, natural high frequencies.
