Duo's Collaborative 2021 EP Available on 12" Vinyl for the First Time!

Originally released on cassette tape via Julia's War Recordings in 2021, now on vinyl for the first time in 2025. Written, recorded and produced by MJ Lenderman and Karly Hartzman, Guttering features the songs "Big Money" and "Phish Pepsi," plus a cover of Greg Sage's "Sacrifice (For Love)" that later appeared on Wednesday's 2022 covers album Mowing the Leaves Instead of Piling 'Em Up.

On the new EP, they continue to carve out magnificent lo-fi indie rock that feels personal and idiosyncratic even as it adheres closely to the genre's lineage. Guttering's six self-recorded tracks present some of the best aspects of both artists' work, setting sighing harmonies against dense power chords and occasionally seasoning the mix with some twangy lead guitar. Compelling despite its humble scope, this a release that should put both Wednesday and Lenderman on your radar if you're into stuff like early Pavement and Cat Power.
