Best known for the song All the Young Dudes (written for the band by David Bowie), Mott the Hoople scored with their 1972 album of the same name. With a foundation in R&B, they became quite popular in the 70s glam scene. Their fifth studio album, All the Young Dudes, is considered a pivotal moment in the bands career. Though Mott the Hoople was heading toward a breakup at the time, Bowie penned the albums titular song and produced the record, making Mott the Hoople relevant again in the glam rock era.
This is a limited foil-numbered edition of 1,000 200-gram black vinyl manufactured for pristine sound at Quality Record Pressings. It comes in European-style poly bag for protection and durability.
"[Bowie's] production results in one of the most satisfying glam records and the title track is one of the all-time great rock songs...the band's swagger is unmistakable underneath the flair and Ian Hunter remains on a songwriting roll...The entire band was on a roll here, turning out great performances and writing with vigor...knowing humor, huge riffs, and terrific tunes, dressed up with style by Ziggy himself. No wonder it's not just a great Mott record -- it's one of the defining glam platters." -Stephen Thomas Erlewine, allmusic.com
