2022 Grammy Award Nominee:
• Best Traditional Pop Vocal Album: Til We Meet Again (Live)
GRAMMY-winning artist Norah Jones releases a live album, 'Til We Meet Again, on the Blue Note label, with performances from the US, France, Italy, Brazil and Argentina recorded between 2017-19. The songs featured span her entire career, from her 2002 debut to her more recent singles "It Was You" and the GRAMMY-nominated "I'll Be Gone". The album closes with a cover of Soundgarden's "Black Hole Sun", a tribute to Chris Cornell recorded at the Fox Theatre just days after Cornell's death.
Sonics are consistent and fine throughout, but keep in mind that the mix places you very much in the hall, via the amplified sound system. As such, the reverberant soundstage is loud and open, Jones' voice and the instruments are presented with an unfussed-with tonal and textural nature, and there's plenty of energy and dynamic snap. The result may not be exactly 'audiophile,' but it does deliver, as promised, a fine evening out with Norah Jones and company.
