A Track-by-Track Homage to Guy Clark on Vinyl LP!
Featuring Margo Price, Sarah Jarosz, Andrew Combs ft. Rodney Crowell & More!
Guy Clark's landmark album, Old No. 1, introduced the Texas songwriter to listeners in 1975. While not a commercial success by any stretch, the album was highly praised by the press. "L.A. Freeway," "Desperados Waiting for a Train," "Rita Ballou," "Texas 1947," "Let Him Roll" and "That Old Time Feeling" soon became instant classics. No one could have known then that Old No. 1 would inspire generations of American songwriters, troubadours and music fans.
Now, 50 years later, Guy Clark LLC's Truly Handmade Records releases Old No. 1 Revisited, a track-by-track homage featuring some of country and Americana's finest.
Recorded in Nashville at Dan Knobler's Good Wishes studio, the album brings together a Who's Who of Americana artists, with tracks covered by Margo Price, Jade Bird, Sarah Jarosz, Erin Rae, Brennen Leigh, Logan Ledger, Aaron Lee Tasjan, Andrew Combs with Rodney Crowell, Kelsey Waldon and Caroline Randall Williams.
Additional musicians include Jen Gunderman and Audley Freed (Sheryl Crow), Mickey Raphael (Willie Nelson), Sam Bush, Jamie Dick, Chris Scruggs, Dennis Crouch, Rosanne Cash (harmony vocals), and Maya de Vitry (harmony vocals).
Old No. 1 Revisited was produced by Knobler, whose credits include albums for Allison Russell, Lake Street Dive, Bahamas, Rodney Crowell, and Rachael & Vilray, among others.
