The reason that you even know Os Mutantes is because of this album. Back in 1999 when David Byrne originally compiled this retrospective - making it the first in Luaka Bop's critically acclaimed psychedelic series - the idea of doing a psychedelic album from outside the U.S. or Europe was a total surprise. And, most important, it introduced Mutantes to the world. Twenty years later, the mutants are back with their electric guitars, cans of bug spray and deviant, freaky psychedelia - with a limited edition gatefold colored vinyl in, what else, Mutant Orange.
