When Osage Audio decided to develope a record cleaning brush, they had a few goals in mind. First, they wanted something that was easy to use in completely spreading a layer of record cleaning fluid over a recordÂ’s surface without slopping it everywhere.
Secondly, they wanted something that was gentle on the recordÂ’s surface and that would make hard scrubbing, which is completely discouraged, difficult to accomplish.
Osage Audio also picked up a couple of goals as they learned more about brushes. It came to their attention that some brush types can harbor microbial growth, mold, and lots of other nasty things. As a result, Osage Audio chose a material that is designed to inhibit this type of problem.
The nylon bristles of the Listener Select Record Cleaning Brush are very easy to rinse clean and contaminants will generally wick their way up the bristles, away from the tips. These features help lessen the chance of cross contamination of your records during the cleaning process.
A bristle-type brush offers the benefit of being useful in helping remove non-soluble residues from the recordÂ’s grooves b1y employing a back-and-forth scrubbing motion using only light force and either one of our formulas or our water product as a lubricant. This is the only type of brush that offers any effectiveness in performing this operation.
The Osage Audio Listener Select Record Brush is offered with specially formulated nylon bristles set into a handcrafted American cherry handle with the Osage logo branded into it. Unlike other record cleaning brushes, the Listener Select will last through thousands upon thousands of record cleaning cycles, making it a good value indeed.
The Osage Audio Record Brush is available in three sizes: 7in, 10in, 12in.
