This album was recorded in the ancient Palazzo di Scoto di Semifonte in Certaldo Alto (FI). For the recording Giulio Cesare Ricci used the legendary Neumann U47, U48 and M49 microphones The mastering has been realized by Giulio Cesare Ricci using the Signoricci system, entirely analog and tube. The master was made with the Ampex ATR 102, 2 tracks, 1/2 inch, 30ips No editing. All tracks on this record are heard as they were performed. The program chosen for this album is particularly refined and this makes it attractive.
Next to the standards that are part of Scott Hamilton's more usual and familiar repertoire such as "All God's Children Got Rhythm" and "Easy To Love", the American saxophonist has thought of songs that are more unusual for him but congenial to this duo. It is inspired.
You find a masterpiece such as "Pure Imagination" (from Willy Wonka & The Chocolate Factory, from 1971) and two pieces by great instrumentalists / composers in the history of jazz, "Con Alma" by Dizzy Gillespie and "Drinkin' And Drivin'" by Jimmy Rowles. An album not to be missed!
