Steely Dan's 5th Studio Album on 180g Vinyl LP!
First Time on Vinyl Since 1998!
TAS Rated 5/5 Music, 4.5/5 Sonics in the October 2025 Issue of The Absolute Sound!
At long last, the classic Steely Dan catalog is back on vinyl.
Led by Walter Becker and Donald Fagen, Steely Dan released seven albums from 1972-1980. The vinyl series concludes with The Royal Scam, the band's 1976 album featuring "Kid Charlemagne" and "The Fez." Available on 180g black vinyl.
Shades of the landmark album Aja emerge in the jazz-funk chord changes, synth sounds, drum patterns, and horn arrangements of the harmonically rich 'Green Earrings' and the lit-rock gem 'The Caves of Altamira,' although The Royal Scam lacks Aja's lush tone and Grammy-winning production...Sonically, this 33rpm copy, remastered from high-resolution digital files by Joe Nino-Hernes at Sterling Sound and pressed at Precision Record Pressing in Canada, is a significant improvement over the original pressing.
