180g Vinyl LP Remixed from Original Multi-Track Tapes!
Remastered by Giles Martin & Sam Okell at Abbey Road Studios!
The Beatles: Live At The Hollywood Bowl is the companion album to the Ron Howard film Eight Days A Week - The Touring Years, a documentary feature film about the bands early career. It captures the joyous exuberance of the bands three sold-out concerts at Los Angeles Hollywood Bowl in 1964 and 1965. The LP on 180 gram heavyweight vinyl is housed in a gatefold sleeve.
While The Beatles: Live At The Hollywood Bowl references the long out of print 1977 album, it is an entirely new release, directly sourced from the original three track tapes of the concerts. To preserve the excitement of the shows while unveiling the performances in todays best available clarity and quality, Grammy Award® winning producer Giles Martin and Grammy Award® winning engineer Sam Okell have expertly remixed and mastered the recordings at Abbey Road Studios, including 13 featured on the album produced by Giles father, plus four additional, previously unreleased recordings from the momentous concerts.
"Those of us who were lucky enough to be present at a live Beatles concert - be it in Liverpool, London, New York, Washington, Los Angeles, Tokyo, Sydney or wherever - will know how amazing, how unique those performances were. It was not just the voice of the Beatles; it was the expression of the young people of the world." - George Martin
"The breathtaking panorama of brillance includes Ringo's solid drumming; George's electryfing, Carl Perkins-redolent lead guitar; and the bass, rhythm guitar, and lead vocal mastery of McCartney and Lennon - John's ferocious 'Help!' being worth the price of admission alone, although the melancholic undercurrent in Paulie's treatment of the strangely passive-aggressive 'Things We Said Today' is a wonder in and of itself." - David McGee, The Absolute Sound
