To ensure consistent sonic excellence, Kevin Gray will cut lacquers for all Rhino Hi-Fi releases, and Optimal will press the 180-gram vinyl records. The releases boast high-quality glossy covers and "tip-on" jackets, an old-school aesthetic that evokes the golden age of vinyl.

Released in 1968, Waiting for the Sun was the third studio album from the Doors. The album topped the charts for four weeks and includes their second US #1 single "Hello, I Love You." The album also contains the single "The Unknown Soldier" which peaked at #39 on the Billboard Hot 100.
