Rolling Stone 2015 Readers' Poll: The 10 Best Jam Bands: The Grateful Dead Rated 1st!
Belated Sequel To Europe '72 Album!
The First NEW Grateful Dead Vinyl in More than 20 Years! Mixed from the Original 16-Track Analog Master Tapes! Contains the Exclusive Track "Big Railroad Blues" NOT available on CD!
Europe '72 Volume 2 contains live performances from the Grateful Dead taken from the band's spring 1972 tour of Europe.
The artwork for the release is by Stanley Mouse, who, along with his late partner, Alton Kelley, created the recognizable images for the original release.
The songs for Volume 2 (a belated 'sequel' to Europe '72) were deliberately chosen as to not duplicate songs from the first live album. Although some of the band's standards are missing due to that fact, this album features some little-heard originals. Fans should be comforted by the nearly hour-long jam on "Dark Star" and "The Other One", presented here as two parts (separated between discs 3 & 4).
As a bonus, this 4LP set of Volume 2 contains "Big Railroad Blues" recorded at the Tivoli Concert Hall in Copenhagen (4/17/72) which is not found on the CD version.
