Blu-Ray with 192/24 Resolution Quadraphonic & Hi-Res Stereo Mixes!
Transferred from the Original Half-Inch Four-Channel Masters!
Growing out of Dizzy Gillespie's Big Band rhythm section, The Modern Jazz Quartet carved a niche in intersecting baroque counterpoint alongside strong blues groundwork. Alternating tracks between rearrangements of Johann Sebastian Bach pieces and original blues compositions (in the following keys spelling out "B-A-C-H"), Blues on Bach seamlessly represents the band's entertaining yet enjoyable ability in blending the seemingly different genres.
Quadraphonic sound, or 4.0 surround sound, utilizes four audio channels connected to four speakers positioned at the corners of a listening space. The multi-tracked audio is mixed dimensional, immersing the listener in an expansive soundscape.
