Originally released in 1977, Taken By Force was remastered in 2015 and reissued on 180g LP plus CD. The CD contains 6 bonus tracks, 5 of which are previously unreleased.

This was the first album to feature Herman Rarebell and the last to feature guitarist Uli Jon Roth, who left the band in 1978.
