In 1976, Stephen Stills and Neil Young began to work on a joint album project with a desire to pick up where they left off with their Buffalo Springfield-era explorations. While the album promised to be a CSNY reunion album (Crosby and Nash had contributed to the album also), a deadline took Crosby and Nash away so Stills & Young had their vocals and contributions removed from the master tapes resulting in the Stills-Young Band's album "Long May You Run".
