AC/DC never changed their minimalist, bone-crunching hard rock. Angus Young's riffs are powerful and catchy, showcasing every element that makes him one of hard rock and heavy metal's greatest guitarists. Throughout the album, the band sounds committed and professional, making Ballbreaker quintessential late-period AC/DC.

This 1995 album was produced by Rick Rubin and featured the return of drummer Phil Rudd who had previously been released from the group due to drinking and drug problems.

The 12th studio album for AC/DC was their first album after a 5-year span following their 1990 release The Razors Edge.
