Rush guitarist and Rock and Roll Hall of Famer Alex Lifeson's 1996 solo album Victor reached number 99 on the Billboard 200 in 1996 and received a 1997 Juno nomination for Best New Group. Lifeson ranks third in the Guitar World Readers poll of '100 Greatest Guitarists' and is also included in Rolling Stone's '100 Greatest Guitarists of All Time.'
Victor features I Mother Earth singer Edwin (lead vocals), Bill Bell (guitar, backing vocals), Peter Cardinali (bass), Blake Manning (drums), Lifeson's son Adrian Zivojinovich (programming), Dalbello (lead vocals on "Start Today"), Colleen Allen (horns on "Victor") and Primus's Les Claypool (bass on "The Big Dance").
