Khan was born into a family of musicians whose illustrious lineage stretches back over five generations, with some even speculating that it was one of his ancestors who invented the sarod. His two sons, Amaan Ali Bangash and Ayaan Ali Bangash, who feature on Moksha, continue the legacy.

With this Indian classical album, Amjad Ali Khan offers the listener a variety of ragas, including folk music from two beautiful states of India - West Bengal and Himachal Pradesh.
