Hand-Crafted Leather Headband Replacement for Audeze LCD Headphones!
The daily use of LCD headphones over the years lends itself to the occasional need for headband replacement. As such, Audeze offers hand-crafted leather and non-leather headband replacements for their LCD line of planar magnetic headphones.
Precision Craftsmanship
Audeze spent time carefully designing and selecting materials for the assembly of their headband. At its core the headband is constructed with heat-treated spring steel that is powder coated to prevent corrosion. This base is then padded with foam and (as outlined in their earpad replacement) wrapped in your choice of either lambskin leather or leather-free microsuede to create the perfect, comfortable fit.
Lambskin Leather
Audeze worked with their leather supplier for three years to find the perfect material for their headbands. Audeze finally found a luxurious, soft and supple black lambskin leather, and a slightly more expensive, lightly dyed and even more supple brown lambskin leather that were the perfect fit for their headphones. Both leathers are imported from a remote region in Italy.
Cushioning
To ensure your headphones are comfortable even during long listening sessions, Audeze tried dozens of foam material before choosing an appropriate match. The gentle bumps on the underside of the headband are where high-density memory foam cushioning has been attached to offer the right amount of support.
Inspected by Hand
Audeze's material experts carefully inspect each piece by hand so they can examine each and every detail. This ensures every headband is free from scratches, blemishes, uneven stitches, dots, or deformation common in lesser earpads.
