180g Double LP With 4th Side That PLAYS BACKWARDS!
Wojciech Rajski conducts the Polish Chamber Philharmonic Orchestra on this one of a kind LP - the 4th side PLAYS BACKWARDS!!!
As with the other media, this double LP has it all: the same rousing interpretation by the Polish musicians and international soloists, the same rousing TACET sound. And the 4th movement goes one better: it was cut in reverse on the disc, using the same process that has already sent countless listeners of other TACET LPs into raptures. And it works on any turntable!
The present LP is Tacets latest production a company that is always good for surprises regarding recording techniques. Unlike a 'normal' LP the needle is put down at the lead-out groove and moves outwards. Behind this apparent gag is nothing other than the wish to achieve the very best sound possible with the general awareness that music often begins softly and ends loudly. A great pity that this phenomenon is not taken into account when employing the usual cutting technique, for the further the pick-up arm moves towards the centre, the more information has to be stored per groove centimeter with a constant revolution speed. The result: with an increasing level of sound the high notes tend to suffer from distortion.
The Ninth Symphony of Ludwig van Beethoven, with Wojciech Rajski and his Polish Chamber Philharmonic, is now available on viniyl LP.
