180g Audiophile Vinyl Mastered by Friday Music's Joe Reagoso & Kevin Gray From Original Atlantic Records Tapes!
As a young teenager growing up in Memphis, Tennessee, Booker T. Jones had the amazing talent to play a number of instruments... and he played them well. Mastering them well enough to land him work at the famous Stax Records label as a sideman, while still attending high school! It was during this time he met up with future guitar legend Steve Cropper and drummer great Al Jackson and later formed the Stax wrecking crew known as Booker T. & The M.G.s.
This amazing quartet, whom later added the amazing Donald Duck Dunn on bass went on to record a treasure trove of funk, soul and rock masterpieces, which have gone on to become some of the greatest sides ever waxed in modern soul history!
With chart topping soul rockers like Green Onions, Red Beans And Rice and Hip Hug-Her, the good folks at Atlantic honored this famed quartet with their own greatest hits album, the magnificent The Best Of Booker T. & The M.G.s in 1968.
