Blue Note Records Debut on 180g Double LP!
A Full Interpretation of Keith Jarrett's 1974 ECM Album!
TAS Rated 4.5/5 Music, 4.5/5 Sonics in the May/June 2025 Issue of The Absolute Sound!
Saxophonist Branford Marsalis, one of the foremost jazz artists of our time and a pacesetting creative force in music for more than four decades, makes his Blue Note debut with Belonging, a full album reinterpretation of Keith Jarrett's 1974 ECM album of the same name which was the debut of the pianist's European Quartet.
Belonging is Marsalis' first new release since 2019 with his acclaimed longstanding quartet featuring pianist Joey Calderazzo, bassist Eric Revis, and drummer Justin Faulkner.
This take on Keith Jarrett's 1974 album Belonging is a thoughtful balance of reverence and bold interpretation by his longstanding quartet of pianist Joey Calderazzo, bassist Eric Revis, and drummer Justin Faulkner...Catharsis and delicacy make beautiful bedfellows on Marsalis' 31st album as a leader.
