180g Audiophile Vinyl!
Blue Jeans & Moon Beams (1974) is the 9th LP by Captain Beefheart and the Magic Band. The album has an uncharacteristically mainstream sound. Among the album's highlights are "Observatory Crest" and "Party of Special Things to Do."
The album does have its influence: an early White Stripes EP entitled Party of Special Things to Do (2001) contains three Beefheart covers, including this album's opening track. Kate Bush in a Smash Hits interview considered this one of her top ten albums.
