The star conductor was praised for the energetic interpretation and theatricality that make this studio recording as individual as a great live performance. Ileana Cotrubas, one of the leading Traviatas of her time, stars with emotional and vocal mastery, partnered by an ardent Plácido Domingo as her lover Alfredo, and a noble Sherrill Milnes as his father Germont. This legendary recording is now back on vinyl (2 LPs in Gatefold), mastered from the original sources and presented in 180g pressings with artwork based on the original release.
