For the first time in decades, three of Cass Elliot's legendary records are receiving a vinyl treatment via Music on Vinyl in collaboration with Sony Music: her 1972 self-titled debut album, sophomore album The Road Is No Place for a Lady, and her third RCA album Don't Call Me Mama Anymore.
Cass Elliot's solo career illuminated her extraordinary talent beyond The Mamas & the Papas. With hits like "Dream a Little Dream of Me," she mesmerized audiences, showcasing her versatile voice and magnetic stage presence. Embracing various genres, from folk to pop to soul, Cass's authenticity and empowerment resonated deeply, inspiring artists with her journey from backup singer to solo sensation. Cass's legacy endures, her music immortalizing her as a beacon of authenticity and inspiration in the music industry.
The Road Is No Place for a Lady was Cass Elliot's final studio album. The album was signified with touches of swing music and gospel and was promoted with the single ''(If You're Gonna) Break Another Heart'' written by Albert Hammond.
The Road Is No Place for a Lady is available as a limited edition of 1,000 individually numbered copies on pink colored vinyl. After its initial release, this is the first time in 50 years that the album has been reissued on LP.
