DSD High Resolution Mastering! Hybrid SACD! Featuring "Who's Sorry Now"!
Born December 12, 1938 as Concertta Rosa Maria Franconero, Connie started to play the accordion when she was three years old and soon she was singing at church benefits, hospitals and clubs. At age eleven, she won the Arthur Godfrey's Talent Scout show. It was Arthur who suggested to change her name to the more Americanized Connie Francis. Later she was singing on a children's television show "Startime." Connie was on the show for four years. Her recording career started by singing demos for music publishers and in 1955 she got her first contract. She spent two years recording songs, which went nowhere. In late 1957, her father suggested she record an up-tempo version of one of his favorites: a 1923 song "Who's Sorry Now". It became a million seller and her first big hit and one of the top songs of 1958. Her first Number One record came in May 1960 with Everybody's Somebody's Fool". Over the next five years, Francis had more than 40 records in the top 100. She also appeared in the films 'Where the Boys Are' and 'When the Boys Meet the Girls'.
Her big hits ended with the beginning of Beatlemania, but she continued to perform in nightclubs.
