Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young's immensely popular second album, Déjà vu, celebrates its milestone 50 year anniversary this year. The groundbreaking album - which went on to be certified 7x platinum in the US, Platinum in France, and Gold in Germany, Switzerland and the UK - features tracks: "Teach Your Children", "Woodstock", "Our House" and "Helpless."
Déjà vu Deluxe Edition features the album remastered on LP and 4-CDs of demos, outtakes, early versions, and alternate versions of songs recorded during the Déjà vu sessions. Presented in a 12 x 12 hardcover book, the collection comes illustrated with rarely seen photos from the era and annotated by writer/filmmaker Cameron Crowe, whose revealing liner notes recount the making of the album through stories told by the people who were there, including David Crosby, Stephen Stills, Graham Nash and Neil Young.

My favorite is now this new 50th anniversary edition both for the original album's 'faster' somewhat leaner sound, but especially for the rest of this superbly presented package. Also note that the bonus material has been carefully remixed and mastered and sounds not at all like typical bonus material second rate fare. It's about as perfect as a 50th anniversary package can be and as perfect as was this album. Revisiting it and experiencing all of the extra material was pure pleasure for today and filled with nostalgia for the 50 years ago first experience. For your kids or grandchildren get them this package and teach them well!
What we have here is a magnificent Rhino '50th Anniversary Deluxe Edition' of the group's second studio album, one of the best so far and certainly one of my all-time fave LPs. The sound from the very opening song is proof it's unabashedly 'demo-worthy'. 'Our House', 'Woodstock', 'Helpless', 'Teach Your Children' - every track a gem, and no rock library is complete without it.
