TAS Super LP List! Special Merit: Informal

After two monumental studio albums and a live retrospective, each member of C,S &N (&Y) scattered to do their own thing. In what has to be one of the most apropos titled albums considering the persona of it's creator, this original 1971 release on Atlantic was not only surprisingly strong artistically, but the sound recorded by engineer Steve Barncard has become legendary since its' release.

First pressings on vinyl have remained a constant on most official audiophile lists. Setting up shop in San Francisco and Sausalito, Crosby called on the local who's who of talent: Slick, Kanter, Garcia, Lesh, Kaukonen, Casady, Hart, Young and Mitchell are just a few to assist with his first solo effort. Even though it didn't render any charting singles as his other three band mates did on their own, this recording is a minor masterpiece.
