2022 Album from Star Violinist David Garrett on 180g Double LP.

A musician whose reputation precedes him. Brilliant, fearless, genre-defying, with a track record of multi-platinum and gold albums. One of the few artists to have won a string of ECHO awards in both classical and pop categories. Now star violinist David Garrett is back with Iconic. The album will be available as a double LP gatefold edition (180g vinyl), including notes about the recording project and photos of the artist. David Garrett here pays tribute to the great violinists of the golden age - 20th-century legends such as Heifetz, Kreisler and Menuhin. He presents a personal selection of gems of the repertoire - atmospheric miniatures and virtuoso showpieces by Bach, Gluck, Mendelssohn, Schumann, Dvorák and Kreisler, among many more. Specially arranged for violin, guitar and orchestra, these pieces take on a new, unique and intimate feel. Garrett is accompanied by his guitarist Franck van der Heijden, who also directs Orchestra the Prezent. "I've recorded many virtuoso albums myself," says the violinist. "This time it was particularly important to me to refocus on the essentials, on what really speaks to the heart." Garrett duets with his former teacher Itzhak Perlman, star tenor Andrea Bocelli, flautist Cocomi and trumpeter Till Brönner.
