In 1996 the all-time great British rock band Deep Purple (back then with Jon Lord on the keys) took the stage at the Montreux Jazz Festival - a place the band has a long association with as immortalized in their classic hit "Smoke on the Water."
Live at Montreux 1996 showcases the band in fine form with Ian Gillan, Roger Glover, Jon Lord, Steve Morse, and Ian Paice tearing through a set of Deep Purple classics like "Fireball," "Woman from Tokyo" and "Smoke on the Water."
